Backpedal
Protect your cushion and stay square.
Run It Up Sport Performance
Fluid hips. Clean breaks. Locked-in press technique. The ability to transition out of your backpedal and drive on a route without losing a step.
That's what separates DBs who make plays from DBs who watch them get made.
This is position-specific DB development. Footwork, body control, press man, off-man coverage techniques, change of direction, and the fundamentals that have to be automatic before any of it works in a game. Built for youth through college. Coached by someone who has lived the position.
The only question is whether you're ready to put in the work.

I played defensive back at the Division 1 level and finished my college career at Concordia University Ann Arbor. I founded Run It Up Sport Performance in 2020 and I have coached defensive backs at the high school level as a position coach and a coordinator. I am ISSA certified and I train the defensive back position specifically, not general athletics.

Most DBs train the wrong thing. They run gassers and lift heavy and never once work the movement they actually make forty times a game. This is the whole off-season in one file. Press work at the line, footwork and breaks in space, and eight weeks in the weight room built for a defensive back instead of a lineman.

Before you worry about press technique or reading a route, you need feet that work and hips that move. Ten drills: backpedal, 90, 45 and 0 breaks, crossover run, T-step, lateral push.

Press is not about how hard you jam. You win with your feet first. Get your hands on him with dead feet and he is gone the second he releases. Base drills, motor press, kickslide, and press to in-phase.

A DB does not need a lineman's program. Two phases: foundation and progressive overload, then a push-pull split for explosive output. Includes nutrition, food lists, and 10 core circuits. This is a written program with no drill videos.
